Role Description

Instructors will be based at one of our language centers in central Bangkok. They must be flexible to travel within the city to deliver lessons to corporate clients when required.

In addition to teaching private students and small groups, instructors are expected to maintain accurate pedagogical records, track student progress, and prepare reports when necessary.

Berlitz provides a structured curriculum and teaching materials, eliminating the need to create lesson plans from scratch. All instructors will receive training to deliver customized and tailored instruction using the Berlitz Method.

Basic Requirements

• Must be a German national (German passport holder) or a native-level German speaker
• Native proficiency in German with a clear, standard accent (Hochdeutsch preferred)
• Proficient in English (used for daily communication with the Berlitz Thailand team)
• Holds a minimum 4-year university degree (B.A., B.Sc., or higher)
• TEFL/TESOL or equivalent teaching certification is required
• Bilingual proficiency (German & English) is preferred
• Currently residing in Thailand and able to travel to various locations around Bangkok, if required
• Willing to follow the teaching standards and methodology set by Berlitz (Berlitz Method)
• Has previous professional work experience and a good understanding of workplace etiquette and business culture
• Open-minded and culturally aware, with the ability to engage with students from diverse backgrounds
• Able to teach a variety of students, including adults, teenagers, children, individuals, and group classes
• Has a minimum availability of 35 hours per week, including evenings and weekends, depending on student demand

Preferred Qualifications (Optional but Advantageous)

• Previous experience teaching German as a foreign language (DaF)

Training & Development

• IOP – Instructor Qualification Program (Training)
• Duration: Typically 7–10 days (depending on the number of instructor candidates)
• Number of trainees: Approximately 2–8 per session
• IQP sessions are conducted several times throughout the year (depending on hiring needs and applicant volume)
• Blended training format: online self-study modules + live training sessions (online and/or face-to-face)
• IQP is a qualification program — candidates must successfully complete the full program in order to be officially hired
